Pictured, from the Aug. 3, 1988, Journal, is the only locally taken photo of something California Raisin-related I could find. It shows Carol Baker, then of Neoga, who was working as a summer assistant for the 4-H Club at that year's Coles County Fair. I read through the entire article, and not one mention is made as to why she's holding a plush raisin. Can someone please advise? Also if that's the 20-inch plush, it's worth more than you might think, although not quite as much as The Noid.
Some movies stay with you long after they've moved on; here's one such movie, saved from oblivion, in this week's edition of Clint Walker's THROWBACK MACHINE!
If you actually know the term "Cozy Mystery" is a thing, you might just enjoy this week's safe-as-snow murder mystery edition of Clint Walker's THROWBACK MACHINE!
It's Christmas with the Gambler and Dolly...minus the Gambler, but including lots of theme park attractions in this week's edition of Clint Walker's THROWBACK MACHINE!
+1

If you'll put up with one column about sports, Clint Walker promises you he'll write about Don Johnson's 1987 album "Heartbeat." So enjoy this…
